Tom & Mylicah Smith
Although Tom and Mylicah grew up 1200 miles apart in different states, their upbringing was quite similar. Both were born into Christian families, attended conservative (fundamentalist) churches, and grew up on farms. The love and submission to God’s Word is foundational to both. Mylicah has lived almost her entire life in western Iowa. She is a RN and has worked in a variety of healthcare areas a few being home health and hospice, family clinics, and long-term care. Mylicah’s passion for theology, reading books, playing the piano, and cooking have blessed many people.
Tom comes from Pennsylvania where he graduated from Penn State with a degree in agriculture. While working as a food inspector for the Commonwealth of Virginia the Lord called Tom to the ministry. Tom moved to St Louis and attended Covenant Seminary where he earned a M.Div. degree. Ordained in 2004 as a teaching elder in the PCA, Tom served as an associate pastor at Burry’s Church until he was called in 2011 to serve the Lord as a missionary in Croatia church planting and teaching seminary students with the Reformed Protestant Church of Croatia. Since his college days, the Lord has strongly impressed on Tom the need to make disciples and train up men to be church leaders. Indigenous pastor and leader development has been Tom’s focus over the past 13 years and along with Rev. Scott Hill and Grace Community Church Tom’s goal is to raise up and disciple men for church leadership among the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indians.
